12 Things We Wish We Could Tell Our Younger Selves

BY ClubWell

There are things you only learn with time. Not because someone didn’t tell you, but because sometimes you have to live it to fully understand. We asked the women of ClubWell (our team and community) what they wish they could tell their younger selves and what they want every woman to know.

What stood out was how many of these lessons come back to the same thing: you don’t have to wait. Here are 12 reminders we hope stay with you.

1. Start taking care of your health earlier than you think you need to.

You don’t have to wait until something feels wrong to start paying attention to your body. Building healthy habits, asking questions and making preventative care part of your routine can help you feel your best now and support your health in the years ahead.

From the Club: Get a good team of professionals (that care) behind you.

2. You can’t hate yourself into change. You have to love yourself into evolution.

You can want to feel stronger, take better care of your skin or build healthier habits without being at war with yourself. The most sustainable changes often begin when you start asking what your body needs, rather than what you need to fix.

From the Club: Choose treatments and movement because you love yourself, not because you’re at war with yourself.

3. Wear your SPF every day. You are going to notice in your 30s if you don’t.

SPF 30 or higher helps protect your skin from UV damage and premature aging. Yes, it is very real. You don’t need a complicated skincare routine to get started, but understanding your skin and what it needs can make all the difference. Start with the basics, and don’t be afraid to ask a professional questions. Get the skin analysis!

From the Club: Book a complimentary skin analysis at ClubWell and try Colorscience Flex SPF (5 shades to choose from).

4. You don’t have to be in pain to deserve support.

Your body doesn’t need to reach a breaking point before you give it attention. Preventative care and guidance from qualified healthcare professionals can help you understand your body and explore what support is right for you. This will save you in the long run.

From the Club: Book an appointment to meet our chiropractor and massage therapist.

5. Get your eight hours of sleep. You are not a machine.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is go to bed.

From the Club: We love sleep strips from Sleep or Die, shop in the Club.

6. Take care of your deep core before you think you need to.

Your deep core works with your breathing and pelvic floor to support your trunk and manage pressure. Learning to coordinate and strengthen these muscles can be valuable throughout life, particularly during pregnancy, postpartum recovery and menopause. You deserve to understand your body at every stage, not just when something changes.

From the Club: Try pre and post-Pilates and pelvic health programs. Message our team for more details.

7. Trust your gut, and ask more questions.

You are allowed to question things that don’t feel right, seek another opinion and ask your healthcare provider to explain your options. Trusting yourself also means being curious, getting informed and making decisions with the right support.

From the Club: Is there a topic you want to understand better? Ask our team of experts. We’re here to support you.

8. Don’t be afraid to turn 50. You’re not finished becoming yourself.

Getting older isn’t something you need to fight. Your needs may change, but so can your understanding of yourself. Keep building strength, moving your body, nurturing relationships and making time for your health. You can continue to discover new things about yourself at every age.

From the Club: Try a variety of classes, get a skin consultation and explore XERF, you are entering into a beautiful chapter of life.

9. Take more chances. Say yes to the things that scare you.

Try the class you’ve never taken. Introduce yourself to the woman beside you. Do something before you feel completely ready. You might discover a new favourite way to move, meet a friend or find a community you didn’t know you needed.

From the Club: Our challenge for you right now: think of the thing that is scaring you most (is it trying a new class, exploring a new project), make the first move and see how powerful you feel.

10. Feed your body well, but don’t forget to feed your soul.

Nutrition matters, and your body needs a variety of nutrients to function well. But living well isn’t about eating perfectly or turning every meal into a calculation. Enjoy food, share meals with people you love and build habits that nourish you physically and emotionally.

From the Club: Make a post-class coffee date with the woman beside you. Some of the best nourishment happens around a table.

11. You don’t have to feel bloated, uncomfortable or disconnected from your body without asking why.

Pay attention to what your body is telling you. Persistent bloating or digestive discomfort can have many causes, so don’t dismiss ongoing symptoms or assume one treatment will solve them. Seek appropriate medical advice when needed, and explore supportive wellness practices that help you feel comfortable and cared for.

From the Club: Meet with our team, explore a Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage massage to support digestion and detoxification.

12. Make time for yourself before your calendar makes the decision for you.

Book the class. Take the hour. Make the appointment. Whether it’s movement, a massage, time in the sauna or a walk outside, you don’t have to wait until life becomes less busy to make your well-being a priority.

From the Club: Challenge yourself this week to schedule your “me” time in. Get those classes in the calendar and make it a real commitment.

… Before you go

Picture your 16-year-old self. What would she be proud of you for? What would you tell her about the things she’s worrying about today?

Now picture yourself at 80. What do you hope she’s still doing, still learning, still enjoying? How do you want her to feel in her body, in her life and in the relationships she’s built?

We’re doing it for both of them: the younger version of ourselves who is still figuring it all out, and the older version who deserves to look back on a life full of care, connection, confidence and joy. Every small choice to look after yourself is a way of showing up for both. And when you feel better, that care reaches beyond you, into your relationships, your community and the life you’re building.

So wherever you are in your journey, start there. Take care of yourself today, for every version of you who got you here and every one still to come.

See you at the Club, with love,
ClubWell 🤍
